Path & Post showcases Trailblazers who make a difference in the communities we serve. Whether it’s client service excellence, community involvement, or the demonstration of our core RUG values, Trailblazers lead the way forward! Please share this post to help us celebrate our August Trailblazer of the Month, Christina van Koppen.
Who is your role model or person you admire the most?
At the risk of sounding like a fangirl, I really like and admire the actress Kristen Bell. She is amazingly talented and very successful yet seems so down to earth. I love how she is honest and open about her personal struggles, and advocates for those with mental health and addiction issues.
What is your favorite local restaurant?
Local on North in downtown Canton.
What is your favorite way to unwind/have fun?
Cooking in the kitchen with a glass of wine and some good music.
What is your favorite thing about the local community?
I love to see the local involvement of my neighbors, whether it’s a community project, local cause, or event. I love to see all my neighbors show up!
What is something interesting that most people don’t know about you?
In high school, I went to live on the South Island of New Zealand and received my 6th form certificate (equivalent to a high school diploma) before moving back to the states.
What 3 words come to mind when you think of the word HOME?
I actually think of one Dutch word — gezellig, (pronounced heh-SELL-ick). It means a combination of cozy, quaint, and nice with a feeling of togetherness.
PATH or POST?
Path
Why did you choose that word?
Path, to me, means movement; a journey, a way of life. Along the way, we get to discover our talents, gifts, and successes as well as learn from our challenges.
