CHEROKEE COUNTY HORSE FARMS

Cherokee County offers more for the money than nearby Alpharetta and Milton when it comes to horse property.

Houses on acreage with fenced lots and pastures are just the beginning to finding the right place for home and horse. You need the space combined with easy access and Cherokee County combines both for you and your horses. You’ll find plenty of pasture land in quiet settings, yet only minutes from I-575, GA Highway 20, GA Highway 92, and GA Highway 140. Cherokee County is connected to North Fulton and only a short drive to GA 400.

Whether you are seeking a modest home for yourself and your horses or a custom estate, Cherokee County offers plenty of options for your next horse farm.

The Garland Mountain Trail Project

The Garland Mountain Trail Project, 10.5 miles of the projected 15 mile trail have been completed and are open to the public as horse and hiker trails. It is the first of its kind in Cherokee County. The Garland Mountain Green Space was purchased in late 2005 by Cherokee County and a combination of pulic and private funds have since installed an ADA compliant trail head, parking area, restrooms, signage and the purchase of trail building equipment.

Since 2007 the Cherokee County Saddle Club has worked under contract with Cherokee County to provide and coordinate volunteers to design, flag, construct, and maintain the trails at Garland Mountain.

400 acres adjacent to the Garland Mountain park was donated to Cherokee County in 2013. The county anticipates that this will be a Garland Mountain Park expansion in the future.
