Canton continues to evolve into a foodie destination with the newest dining option coming in July. Mazzato will be a Peruvian restaurant in historic downtown Canton at 190 E Main St.
The space previously occupied by Snug Gastro Pub is being fully remodeled with a modern urban vibe, with custom Peruvian inspired art by artist Guiomar Barrios.
Award winning Chef Jeffrey Del Carpio brings his experience working in some of Peru’s finest restaurants, along with his experience as executive chef of several restaurants in Washington D.C. Chef Jeffrey owns the new venture with his business partner Juan Kukurelo.
Although the menu is still being developed, Chef Jeffrey expects to have causa, anticuchos, quinoa salad, quinoa risotto, saltado, chaufa, Peruvian rotisserie chicken, mango salad, cordero, and Peruvian BBQ ribs on the menu.
Mazzato will also have live music on the second floor on weekends and a bar that will feature drinks made from pisco, a South American brandy made from distilled grapes.
Mazzato’s Facebook and Instagram pages have more information about the restaurant.
