You might not expect the City of Ball Ground to have one of the best parades around, but locals will tell you the March of the Toys for Tots Parade each December shouldn’t be missed! With flashy parade floats and an appearance by Santa and Mrs. Claus, this event features one of the largest Christmas parades in all of North Georgia.
The parade acts as a way to collect hundreds of new, unwrapped toys to donate to the Toys for Tots campaign. The parade is free for all, but those who attend are asked to bring one new and unwrapped gift to donate to children in need. It’s a great way to enjoy the magic of the season, while spreading a little goodwill at the same time!
Like any big parade, some well-known figures are sure to be seen marching in the parade alongside Santa and his elves! Past participants have included superheros like Batman and Batgirl, The Flash, Captain America, Mr. Incredible, and princesses like Elsa, Anna, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Belle, Tinkerbelle, Ariel, and Alice. And of course, some adventurous visitors like pirates and the Mad Hatter!
Following the parade, children can take pictures with their favorite characters from the parade, including a chance to talk with Santa Claus. Photos are free, just remember to bring your camera and a warm jacket!
